My fake felt Barbie blow up chair ©MJR 2010

*as noted before this is my pattern please do not claim as your own or sell anything from this you can make as many as you like and give them away that is fine, it would not be fair since this is posted as a thank you to all the others who I know offer free patterns that I have used it is a gift*
I know this is a strange name for this pattern and tutorial and I was at a loss what to name it lol it was inspired by the blow up doll furniture from the 70s. My daughter and I saw some cheap blow up furniture for dolls in a thrift store that she liked but I was worried that it would not stand up to my nephew who plays with her once in awhile. He most defiantly would pop it if she didn’t lol. So I drew up this pattern and played around till it looked right. I hope the tutorial is easy to understand and follow.
Materials:
Felt of whatever color
Thread to match
Graph paper and pencil or pen
Needle and scissors
Stuffing

Directions:
On a piece of graph paper you will draw out your pattern, measure a square that is 17 blocks across and 17 blocks up, this will be your seat, cut it out and set it aside
For the arms measure a U shape about 5-6 blocks thick to allow for the curves you can use my photos for reference, make it long enough to fit the seat, I am not sure how to explain this so refer to my photos they should help cut this out and set it aside
Cut your pieces out of felt 2 for the seat and 2 for the arms
Sew the seat pieces together since it is felt you can whip stitch the edges, I use invisible thread to do most of my felt projects so I don’t have to worry about matching the thread, leave a small opening to stuff it, stuff firmly and sew it shut, sew and stuff the arm pieces the same way

Now you will have to refer to my photos for this so you understand better, I stitched a few stitches in the middle of the seat so it looked more like a blow up chair lol then I positioned the arms on and stitched in the middle of the back of the chair to hold it and at the end of each arm refer to the photos
That’s it you’re done now your dolls or your kids dolls have a chair or a dozen chairs make as many as you like hope you look forward to the next tutorial for a couch to match ;)
